used VIRTUAL Roquro SYSTEM (About Roquro)
2021
These works are photographed on the theme of the imaginary Black Hole "Gargantua" appears in a movie, "Interstellar". The ceramic works have been created as a series of “medium“ since 2018 and their characteristic shapes are designed with the virtual potter’s wheel system, "Roquro". The ceramist has spent a lot of time watching and reading about Science Fiction since his teenager. He has created works trying to find an answer if Science Fiction is possible on ceramic art. We exhibited the ceramics and the photographs together at the exhibition and sale to show his vision more clearly.
Kotaro Sakazume, the ceramist:
"Roquro" is picked up from the aspect of industrial arts and technology. However, I also would like to focus on the individual shapes designed with "Roquro". This is because "medium" impresses me with the neo-futuristic and primitive shapes. I have spent a lot of time watching and reading about Science Fiction since my teenager. My imaginary story that if I could throw ceramics under zero gravity is one of the signals for creating works. Is it exaggerated that my question if Science Fiction is possible on ceramic art, and the tracks of my speculation got modes of ceramics?
